I work with high-achieving people who are intelligent, prone to overthinking, and tend to be more logical than emotional. Normally, your analytical nature allows you to solve most problems that life throws at you, but perhaps something has happened recently that has left you feeling stuck or lost. Despite the amount of energy you put into excelling at work, school, or your relationships, you might still experience overwhelming anxiety regarding whether you're doing enough. Maybe you feel like you are not measuring up or are falling behind, and this is leading to feelings of depression or anger. You worry about how others might perceive you if they were to see you at less than your best. All of these tendencies have allowed you to achieve great things in your life; at the same time, they've come at a cost. Your perfectionism has damaged your sense of self-worth and you’re completely exhausted. You’re not sure how much longer you can - or want to - keep this up. More than anything, you want to gain control over your uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. Whether it be taming your anxious thought patterns, moving through periods of grief or depression, adjusting to life transitions, or achieving healthier relationships with others- therapy can help you attain greater peace and purpose in your daily life.
I describe my style as investigative and analytical, yet compassionate and collaborative. I challenge my clients to break issues down (analysis) and put them back together in a new, more helpful way (synthesis). My ultimate goal is to help people deeply understand the way they interact with themselves, others, and the world and why these habits developed. From there, many clients also want to examine if these habits are properly serving them and how a better method might be achieved. The therapeutic methods I align with most are CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), EFT (Emotionally-Focused Therapy), and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). I also often utilize stylistic approaches and interventions from Humanistic Therapy and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I maintain ideological flexibility throughout the therapeutic process, as I believe that therapy is most effective when tailored to each client’s individual strengths and often a client’s needs and perspectives shift over time.
I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I completed my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Psychology in 2015. Since completing my education, I have worked in both community mental health as well as in group private practice settings. I have always had a passion for considering challenging questions and solving challenging problems; my problem-solving nature paired with my desire to make a positive change in the world led me to pursue a career in counseling. I feel so fortunate that my role as a therapist allows me to engage in genuine partnerships with amazing people every day!

Therapy with me
My ideal client will be curious, dedicated, and ready for deeper introspection of their current or past struggles. As a recovering perfectionist myself, I understand that you’re the type of person who values efficiency and action. You want solutions now and may even be skeptical about whether therapy can really help you - that’s okay! Immediate relief can usually be achieved through education and skill-building, but the most meaningful and long-lasting benefits of therapy come with time. As we work together to establish understanding and trust, my ideal client will gradually build comfort opening up on an emotional level and allowing themselves to be vulnerable in sessions.
My fees:
60-minute Intake Session: $180
50-minute Individual Sessions: $150
On a personal note…
I'm always striving to find the right balance in life; between work and play, challenge and comfort, familiar routines and new adventures. Originally from Austin, TX, I now live in Arvada with my husband and our two rescue dogs, Phoebe and Bindi. In my spare time I enjoy all the stereotypical Colorado activities, including hiking, skiing, camping, or just soaking in the mountain view on a sunny patio. Movement/exercise and connecting with nature are two major components of my own self-care. I have also recently discovered an enthusiasm (though not necessarily talent) for floral arranging and have been attempting to cultivate more of a creative side as well. Outside of therapy and my dogs, travel is another passion - my husband and I have visited eighteen countries together, and counting!
